Lancia, Venice Int Film Festival (2006)
Designed to show the way forward for a new C-segment Lancia car some years after the Delta ceased production, the Delta HPE concept draws heavily on the
original Beta HPE for inspiration whilst combining design cues from its contemporary Lancia models plus some of the more famous classics.
In desingning the concept, Lancia focussed on five key areas - original body design, interior space, quality of life on board, interior design and quality materials.
Mechanically it follows the traditional front engine, front-wheel-drive route, and is hypothesised with a range of petrol and diesel engines from 150 to over 200bhp. Manual and semi-automatic gearboxes are
proposed, as is electronically controlled damping for superior ride comfort.
It is expected to enter production in a very similar form.
